The Belle Of The Brawl
A long time ago Arlong came to the village and made everyone that wanted to live pay him money to let them live. Everyone has enough money to pay but Nami's mother's house is not in the village so Arlong doesn't notice it {Nami and Nojiko's mother is poor}. When they are about to leave one of Arlong's crewmates notices smoke from Nami's house. When Arlong gets to her house he knocks on the door but since Nami's mother used to be in the Navy she puts a shovel right in his mouth. Arlong eats the shovel and threatens to lock her away in a dungeon for the rest of her life if she does not have the money to pay. Nami's mother only has enough money to pay for her two children or herself; she sacrifices herself for her foster children. On top of that Arlong takes Nami because she can draw good maps and he needs a navigator. {mosgoogle}
